Mine only happened after 1.29 update, and prior to this everything was fine up until then, I had an active extension cable attached to the rift for both USB and HDMI since day one without any issues and been using this setup for 8 months or so.In the past few days, I've used my rift for 2hrs a day without the extension cable and I've NOT had any crackling noise so far (touch wood), although I did try without the ext cable when the crackling happened straight after the 1.29 update and the crackling was still present, so I'm not sure whats different this timeI really need the ext cable as I sit 2 meters away from my PC and not its annoying as the cord is tugging the headset.I've tried turning on/off the enhancements/spatial sound effects in the headphone setup and that made no difference.
